General

All training courses of Certified Training Academy meet or exceed the standards set forth by the Criminal Justice Services Board in the Regulations Relating to Private Security Services.

Core Subjects (DCJS Course Code 30E)

This core subjects class is required for all Electronic Security categories:

Generally, CTA separates each of the disciplines, even for 30E. However, from time-to-time, the other electronic security disciplines are mixed to meet scheduling needs, but separated for the respective 35E, 38E or 39E.

The four-hour course content (plus exam) includes:

Technician’s assistants are only required to complete the core subjects course to gain their certification. All other categories require additional training to obtain a registration.

Central Station Dispatcher (DCJS Course Code 38E)

The 38E course for Central Station Dispatchers (CSD) totals four hours, plus examination. Combined with the 30E Core Subjects, CSDs attend a total of eight-hours, plus examination time. 38E content includes:

Electronic Security Sales Representative (DCJS Course Code 39E)

The 39E course for Electronic Security Sales Representative (sales reps) totals four hours, plus examination. Combined with the 30E Core Subjects, sales reps attend a total of eight-hours, plus examination time. 39E includes:

Electronic Security Technician (DCJS Course Code 35E)

Technician training is the longest requirement of DCJS electronic security programs. CTA’s program is twelve-hours, plus exam. Combined with the 30E Core Subjects, technicians attend a total of sixteen-hours, plus examination time. 35E includes:
