John D. Kochensparger
Training Director
In August of 2000, John became the director of Certified Private Security Services Training Academy, Inc. after spending nearly five years with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), Private Security Services Section. There he served the people of Virginia and the private security profession as the manager of compliance and enforcement. Having a background as a police officer (Alexandria, VA), corporate security director (Washington, D.C.) and electronic security sales representative (Northern VA), John was well suited for DCJS by having experience in most of the areas regulated by DCJS at that time.
In a previous aspect of his career, John traveled and trained nationally. Some of his most prestigious training occurred for the FBI National Academy and special seminars, National Crime Prevention Institute, International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Sheriff’s Association and numerous state and local law enforcement academies.
John is also an Army veteran. While in the service, John attained the rank of sergeant while serving as a military policeman, investigator and physical security inspector with the Army Security Agency. His primary assignments were in Okinawa, Japan and Arlington, Virginia.
